You can also upload books by putting them on your external memory card at the same time as you upload them. This app lets you choose how you want to read the book. You can change the background color, the font size, and the orientation of the text as well. If you want text to scroll automatically, there is also a way to do that too.

Free Download, Pay for Books or Subscription

These apps are free to download, but then you have to pay for a subscription to read books from there, which costs money. Many are very cheap.

Audible

Amazon has a subscription service for audiobooks. There are different levels so you can change them based on how quickly you read. Android, iOS, and Windows Phone; syncs with any Amazon device, laptops, and many other things, too.

iBooks

There are both ebooks and audiobooks in Apple's store. Designed to be simple and easy to use on any Apple device. iOS

Nook

In case you want to keep your books with you even when you're not at home, you can use the Barnes and Noble ereader's companion app to sync up with your phone and desktop. A serial reading experience has also been added to it. Android, iOS, and Windows.

Kobo comes with its own online store where you can find a huge number of free and paid books. One of the best things about this app is that it can read epub, CBZ, CBR, and even PDF files. Facebook friends can like and comment on what you read.

Serial Box

Serial Box is more like a TV show than a book. Each week, teams of writers come up with a new episode-sized piece of a story. As you read or listen to a story, you can switch between text and audio versions. The app also lets you switch between the two as you go.
