Best Harlan Coben Books

Tell No One

Harlan Coben's best book and which of his best books should I read first, if someone asks me. In that case, I don't spend any time recommending this book to anyone any more.

This is the kind of book I think of when someone asks me about thrillers. There is a good chance that if you look up thrillers in the dictionary, this book will show up.

The plot of this book is very similar to other Coben books. It's a little predictable, but there are some good characters in it, too.

A little summer:

I love this mystery, which has a lot of twists and turns as the story goes on. Dr. David Beck, a widower for eight years, survived a horrible attack at his favorite lake house where his wife, Elizabeth, was killed.

He still thinks about her every day, but he spends most of his time working with the poor, who seem to be able to figure out how to get Medicaid, which is sad.

He has a good friend, Shauna, who is married to his sister Linda and is an amazing model.

They still talk to him, but his father-in-law is rough and treats him like a dweeb. His mother-in-law is more passive and listens to him, on the other hand.

More people are introduced, but the most interesting thing is the email sent to Dr. Beck's office. It changes everything for everyone.

The Woods

To read this book, you play "hide and seek." Follow the clues, turn right, and get back into the woods. There is only one place you can go, and that place is the woods.

I love how there are a lot of lovely twists and turns and surprises in this book. Writing-wise, it wasn't great, but it was good enough to keep the good story going.

I think sometimes Coben wants to write a love story.

A quick summary:

This story is about Paul Copeland and how his sister's disappearance came up after a murder in Paul's county.

The mystery is right away interesting, and the reader is drawn into learning more about his sister's story, which is mostly unsolved and everyone seems to be a suspect.

My favorite part of the book was when it went back in time and saw how all of the characters had been affected by this collective trauma for many years to come.

A lot of times, I didn't understand why the Soviet Union was part of the story. The author did a great job of making sure the story came to a close with all of the parts fitting together perfectly.

Gone For Good

This was a big change for Corben. A thing about Coben's stories makes you want to read them all the time.

At first, I thought it was the same kind of story that Coben usually tells. In the beginning, someone dies, and then they go back in time to look for clues about what happened in the past.

There are a lot of people, as always.

Yet, there is a surprise that I find very interesting. As the book went on, I even raised my eyebrows a few times because I was surprised by the changes in the story.

I think this is the best trick Coben has used. And if you like to finish a chapter and say "WHAT!" then this is the book for you!

Hold Tight

That's how I would describe this book. It lived up to its name.

There must be a new trend in new novels now that show the bad things that happen because of technology. This one is no exception.

If you live in an affluent neighborhood, it looks like everyone has a good life, but is it? When you go behind closed doors, you can see right through the surface of privilege.

It's time to tell some stories.

People who have lost a son, who died by suicide, are there.

There are the parents who are worried sick about their son who is becoming less emotional and has now gone away and is not coming home.

Those who are looking for a kidney donor before it's too late to save their son from an early death are the ones who need help the most.

In this story, there is the young girl whose life went down the toilet because of an insult by a well-respected teacher.

Then there is the well-respected teacher whose life also went down the drain after the person said that.

In the end, but by no means least, we come to the monster with the worst case of uncontrollable anger you have ever seen.

Six very different stories all have one thing in common: They are all going to the same place at the same time. Because of this collision becoming a force of nature, it will be hard to stop. Even though some people will live, their lives will never be the same again.

This is a high-speed thriller that will keep you on your toes and guessing until the very end.

Caught

You can expect a twisty ride and an ending you didn't expect from his books. Caught is no different.

This is one more reason why Coben is so popular.

This is a hard book to describe without giving away too much. Is it a good, fast, and exciting book? Is it good? Not only that, but it's a lot more.

That's what this book does. It looks into modern American society and shines a light on it.

He looks at the banking crisis, the misery of senior professionals who are thrown out on the garbage heap even though they still have a lot to give, the breakdown of family life and how it affects children, so many other things that it's impossible to cover them all in a short review. Coben also talks about how the breakdown of family life affects children.

Putting all that together with a thriller that works until the very last page makes for a magnificent, thrilling, and incredibly satisfying book!

No Second Chance

When a surgeon is shot, his wife is killed, and his baby is taken, it's hard to figure out what's going on.

The surgeon, who almost died, wants to find his daughter, who he thinks is still alive.

And so the story of his search starts to get complicated and a little hard to follow at times. It starts when his rich father-in-law gets a ransom demand for $1 million and the police are on the trail.

The story is about two years of false leads, disappointment, a father's search, and no sign of the child, but it also has a happy ending.

The author introduces a lot of different people, and the reader has to figure out which one, if any, is involved in this crime.

If you didn't like the story, I thought the ending was a little far-fetched.
