9 Best Karin Slaughter Books Update 05/2022

Karin Slaughter Books

As a crime author, Karin Slaughter has sold more number one bestsellers than most of us have had hot meals. There are 35 million copies of her books around the world and 37 different languages. Lee Child, Gillian Flynn, Kathy Reichs, and us are just a few of the many people who love her books.

Her first book, Blindsighted, came out in 2001, and it was about a pediatrician and part-time coroner named Sara Linton. It was a best-seller, and her writing career was off to a good start. Besides the Will Trent series (which also features Sara Linton), she’s written a lot of thrillers that aren’t part of that series. These are our favorite things.

Pieces Of Her

Pieces Of Her

If you’ve never read Karin Slaughter’s books before, this standalone thriller is a great way to get to know her. It’s smart, gripping, and full of memorable characters. Until a gunman shoots Andrea at the diner where they’re eating together, Andrea thought she knew her mother, Laura, inside and out. After the shooting, Andrea sees a different side of Laura. When Andrea reads this book, she goes on a journey to find out the truth about her mother. It is a page-turner that tells two stories, one in the present and one from 32 years ago, which Karin seamlessly blends together into one story.

The Good Daughter

Two sisters are taken at gunpoint into the woods near their home after an attacker breaks in and kills their mother. One of them runs for her life, the other is left to die. It’s been 28 years since a school shooting happened in their hometown. Both of them have to deal with what happened to them when they were kids. If you like thrillers with a lot of suspense, this one will keep you up into the wee hours. The sisters’ complicated relationship adds a lot of heart to the story.

This is the book that started Karin’s writing career and introduced us to Sara Linton, a character we all know and love very much. Her ex-husband is a coroner and pediatrician, and she has the key to the identity of a sadistic serial killer. She must work with him to put the killer behind bars. If you like thrillers, this book is just what you want: dark, complicated, and scary.

As a serial killer is killing people around Atlanta, the first Will Trent book is set in Atlanta. People who have been killed by him have all been women. He signs his work with one, very sad, act of mutilation. I love this book because it’s told from three different points of view: A homicide detective, a recently released convict, and a police officer haunted by her own past. It keeps you guessing until the very end. Will Trent, who will appear in 12 more of Karin’s books, is first introduced in this book. Fans can see the beginnings of this much-loved character, which they will come to love.

The Silent Wife

This is Karin Slaughter’s 20th book, and it’s part of her popular Will Trent series, which she has written many books about. GIB Agent Will Trent makes a connection to a case he worked on in the past that is very bad. After they look into both crimes, it becomes clear that they must solve the first one in order to find out who did it. As always, this new book is hard-hitting, well-written, and revisits some of the characters and places from her first books.

Pretty Girls

Grief tears Claire and Lydia apart when their sister Julia doesn’t come home and no one can find her body The two sisters meet up again 20 years later when another young girl goes missing in the same way. They want to find out what happened to Julia. In Karin Slaughter books, we love fast-paced action, many twists, and a truly terrifying baddie who will haunt you in your dreams. This book has all of those things.

Cop Town

Cop Town

When Karin wrote her first book on her own, it was set in Atlanta in the 1970s. This book is different from her other books because it’s her first. Police recruit Kate Murphy is thrown into the middle of a huge manhunt for a killer that is shaking the city. A lot of people don’t want to work with her because she’s a woman. In the middle of the story, Kate and Maggie, a female officer who comes from a police family, switch places. They have a great relationship, and Karin does a great job of capturing the feel of time and place.

Fans of Karin love this book because it is the first time Sara Linton and Will Trent meet. When her husband died, Sara moved to Atlanta. She is from Grant County, but now lives there. Then, she meets Will and his partner, Faith. Soon, she finds herself in the middle of a case the two of them are working on. After a young woman was taken to the hospital after a car accident, they found out that she and another woman had been tortured by a psychopathic kidnapper. There may be more women who have been tortured by the same person. This thriller has a lot of action, but it also has a lot of interesting and well-developed characters.

False Witness

Leigh Collier has worked very hard to build what looks like a normal life for herself and her family.

She’s an up-and-coming defense attorney at a well-known law firm in Atlanta. She would do anything for her 16-year-old daughter Maddy, and she and her husband, Walter, have separated amicably.

When you look at Leigh’s normal life, you see a childhood that no one should have to go through.

In the end, the brutal act of violence that wiped out a childhood full of secrets, betrayal, and lies finally destroyed it all.

On a Sunday night at her daughter’s school play, she gets a call from one of the partners at the law firm. He wants Leigh to help defend a wealthy man who has been accused of rape.

Though she is aware of the case, it soon becomes clear that she has little choice but to keep her job.

They’re going to be tried in a week.

There is no chance that he asked her to be his lawyer. When she meets the man in person, she realizes that it’s not just a coincidence.

She has seen him before. He knows her. He may know what happened twenty years ago and why Leigh hasn’t talked about her past for two decades.

She now has more to lose than this case. Callie, Leigh’s younger, estranged sister, is the only person who can help. She’s the last person Leigh wants to bring into this after all they’ve been through, but she might be able to help. Having to face the truth that could change her life means that she has no choice.
