Books About Missionaries

Almost every mission book talks about how believers are called to do God's work. These books not only teach us about missions, but they also make us want to do something. This is done through full-time service abroad, short-term trips, work with international people groups in the United States, money, and many other ways as Christians share the gospel with their neighbors and the world.

If you want to learn more about missions and find your place in the Great Commission, there are a lot of resources out there for you. People who have been on missions, pastors, and other leaders told me what books they think all Christians should read about missions. Missions history, best practices, or just stories about missions from around the world are all things you should read. Here are some books you should have on your shelf.

Discovering the Mission of God, edited by Mike Barnett

a comprehensive missiology that helps people see the big picture is called Even though it's more of a textbook, its contributors cover topics like theology of mission, church history, missions case studies, and best practices, even though it's more of a textbook. For anyone who wants to learn more about missions and find their place in God's mission, Discovering the Mission of God is a great place to start.

The Insanity of God by Nik Ripken

stories about how faith has stayed strong in places where people are very afraid. It also shows what it means to pick up your cross and follow Jesus in real life. People who believe in Jesus are called to look at their own commitment to serve him no matter what, but also to have a strong faith in the resurrected Christ that will help them deal with pain for Christ's sake. In this book, let the Holy Spirit and the challenges in this book stretch your faith and renew your desire to see the lost come to Christ. God is enough for you if you let Him.

The Great Omission by Robertson McQuilkin

Is a book like that. When it comes to missions, this small, powerful book has been a favorite of mine for a long time. McQuilkin talks about three things that make us want to do God's work in the world. It's important to have a love for yourself, a love for other people, and a love for God. All believers should find their place in fulfilling the Great Commission in just over 100 pages. He wakes them up and tells them how they can help. It has been a great help to missions for a long time.

Missions: How the Local Church Goes Global.

Authors: Andy Johnson and David Platt

Even though most Christians will never move to another country, the Bible says that every Christian and every church should be part of the big project of global missions. People around the world go to church because they believe in God and want to help. When should a church start? Churches don't need to have a complicated missions plan. They need the Bible and the wisdom to know how to use it, so they can do good things. This book looks at the Bible and gives advice on how to train and support missionaries, form international partnerships, send short-term teams, and interact with the world both at home and abroad.

Cultural Apologetics: Renewing the Christian Voice, Conscience, and Imagination in a Disenchanted World.

Author: Paul M. Gould

The post-Christian world we live in today gives us a boring and Cultural Apologetics disenchanted view of the world. The way we see, think, and live has been changed by materialism and science, leaving us with a way of seeing, thinking, and living that doesn't allow for beauty and wonder. We now live in a world where magic and mystery are no more.

Many people, including many Christians, don't see the world the way it should be seen any more. As a result, the Christian imagination isn't as strong. As a result, the church has become less intelligent and more sensitive, and it doesn't know how to connect the gospel with everything in modern life. As a result, the Christian voice isn't heard as much. In this day and age, Christian wholeness is hard to come by, which hurts the church's ability to make an appealing and compelling case for faith. As a result, the Christian conscience isn't as strong.

Cultural Apologetics addresses this malaise by proposing a new way to interact with the world, based on the Bible's account of Paul's speech on Mars Hill. It shows how to get the Christian voice, conscience, and imagination back. When readers finish this book, they will be able to look at and help others see the world as it is: beautiful and mysterious.

With creative ideas, Cultural Apologetics teaches people how to talk about the Christian faith in a way that is both plausible and appealing. It also helps people who have become lost in the haze of modern Western culture.

The God Ask: A Fresh, Biblical Approach to Personal Support Raising

Author: Steve Shadrach

As a ministry worker, it can be hard to raise money for your work. Though, it doesn't have "The God Question." It doesn't have to do with money or asking people to give. It has to do with what you do. In this verse, it's about relying on God to help you get what you need. This is your chance to invite other people to join you in the work of the Lord. It's your job to pray and work hard to find people who the Lord has already chosen to help you and your work. A job is done by God. Now it's your turn.

In this case, we can see. Nehemiah was very afraid of meeting the richest and most powerful person on the planet. He asked King Artaxerxes to help pay for his project to rebuild Jerusalem. But when it came time to make his case, this lowly cupbearer looked up to the person who gives money first. At the moment of truth, Nehemiah raised his heart and asked The God what to do. "Then the king asked me, 'What would you like to do?'" Nehemiah 2:4 says. So I asked God in heaven.

Instead of going to appointments afraid of what your friends will say, you can have faith that God is in charge of everything. This book will help you accept that this is not a man's question. No. It's a God Question!
