For many people, the holidays are a great time to get back to reading what they've missed. List of books about Nepal that will help you understand how the country used to be. These books are mostly about the history of Nepal in the modern era, which includes tourism, politics, and the way people live in the country.

You should be able to figure out why Nepal is the way it is by the end. The books we have for you today cover everything from the formation of Nepal's first political party to the building of Nepal's first hotel. So, what are you going to do now? Get them.

The Snow Leopard (Peter Matthiessen)

This is a must-read from a long time ago. Books written by Peter Matthiessen show how he and a naturalist went to Nepal to study Himalayan blue sheep and snow leopards in the Dolpo region. They were there to study them. They walk fromPokhara to Shey Gompa. They also go to the Crystal monastery, which is a lot farther away.

The writer also talks a lot about how important it is to meditate and talks about some parts of Zen Buddhism, too. It is a book that has been around for a long time and is one of the best travel books about Nepal.

Tiger for Breakfast (Michel Peissel)

Tiger for Breakfast is a book about a man who changed how Nepal thought about tourism. Boris Lissanevitch, a Russian man who fled his country and became a socialite in India, then moved to Nepal to party with the kings. The book was written by Michel Peissel and tells the story of Lissanevitch. It is personal and interesting, and it shows how things were in Kathmandu in the 60s and 70s in a way that is interesting.

A lot of the stories about Queen Elizabeth II's visit and how he started one of the first hotels in Nepal are interesting, too. Many people remember him and how he changed Nepal's tourism.

House of Snow (Ranulph Fiennes and Ed Douglas)

Is this what you want to read? In the book, there are 50 short pieces of fiction and non-fiction written by people who are important in their country, like Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Jon Krakauer, Manjushree Thapa, Thomas Bell and Michael Hutt. All the money from sales will go to charities that help people who were hurt in the 2015 earthquakes.

The book has the most beautiful stories that show the world what Nepal is like. But, pick and choose which stories you want to read. In the book, there are a lot of stories from people who live in other countries, mystical tales, poetry, and wonderful fiction. Start with Isobel's letter from Kathmandu if you choose to read this book, and then read the rest. Thank us when you can.

Kathmandu (Thomas Bell)

The book is about Kathmandu and how it has changed over time, just like the title says. When you read this book, you will be both moved as well as amused. It is both happy and sad because it talks about the city's history, architecture, politics, society, and most of all, the lives of the people.

People who have lived in Kathmandu their whole lives will be able to connect with him, too. It is very detailed and shows how people's lives haven't changed much, even though a lot has changed. In one review, the author said that this book was like a picture of Kathmandu. It went through witches, colonial anthropologists, LSD cult groups and spies to show how Kathmandu has changed over time.

The Tutor of History (Manjushree Thapa)

The book isn't real, but the characters are very real. Books set in the 90s show how Nepal was back then.

It's easy to read and has some great moments that make you think about what you're reading. Written by a woman, she has done a great job of describing Nepal's society.

Because of the ending, the parts that are a little slow. It is a simple story that is written well by one of Nepal's best authors, and it's written well. Even though the book was written two decades ago, the people in it are still relevant today.

Nepal Nexus (Sudheer Sharma)

A Nepali book written by Sudheer Sharma called Nepal Nexus is an updated version of Prayogshala, which was written in Nepali and was written by Sudheer Sharma.

The book talks about Nepal's recent history, but it mostly talks about the decade-long armed conflict that has been going on for more than two decades.

Sharma talks about almost all of the most important people in Nepal's history, from former kings to current leaders. He also talks about how that changed Nepal-India relations. You need to read this book if you want to learn about Nepali politics and what's going on in the world today!

Mahesh Chandra Regmi Series

Those who live in Nepal and those who want to learn more about it will be very happy with the research series called Regmi. It is made up of 21 books written by historian Mahesh Chandra Regmi between 1969 and 1989. Among the documents in this series are English translations of important historical documents from the Regmi Research Collection as well as short historical analyses written by Regmi himself. These are often rough drafts of narratives that later appeared elsewhere.

It will teach you things you didn't know if you have a lot of time and like history. A lot of people who study anthropology, sociology and history have said that it's very detailed and strong. Most people who have written about Nepal have read these notes because Regmi's name lives on.

Sirish Ko Phool Or Blue Mimosa By Parijat

The story progresses as he gets over and deals with the things that happened in his past and starts to open up and fall in love. A story of love and loss that will make you want to visit this country. Written by a woman in Nepal who goes by the name Parijat. Her real name is Bishnu Kumari Waiba.
