Books About Vitamins

Nutraceuticals and herbal remedies are becoming more popular because they can help people get better when they get sick. In many cases, these treatments haven't been properly tested to show that they're safe or that they work at all.

However, they have been used for a long time all over the world. In this case, drug trials are very expensive, so the big drug companies don't want to pay for them.

In the long run, drug companies want to spend their money on new, profitable medicines. People don't think this is a big deal, because these businesses need money to stay alive.

It follows that many doctors and other health care professionals don't feel comfortable recommending herbal remedies if there isn't enough evidence to back them up.

Until I started my own nutraceutical company and tried some of these herbal remedies, I thought they were a waste of time. I have found that the products work well and have few, if any, side effects, so I think they're good.

As a pharmacist, I know that many medicines come from plants. A list of the best books I think are out there about this subject has been made by me.

Nutraceuticals: Efficacy, Safety and Toxicity by Ramesh C. Gupta

This is a very detailed book about the use of nutraceuticals in different types of illnesses. This book has six parts.

Readers can learn about a lot of things about nutraceuticals, like common agents, prebiotics and probiotics, toxicity, and interactions with other medicines. The last part talks about how these products are regulated.

I think this book is good for anyone who needs to know a lot about nutraceutical agents from a scientific point of view.

Prescription for Nutritional Healing: A Practical A to Z Reference to Drug-Free Remedies Using Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs & Food Supplements by Phyllis A. Balch, CNC

A good book for people who want to learn more about alternative medicine. Vitamins, supplements, and herbs are shown with a list of illnesses from A to Z.

One of the best books for people who want to try alternative medicine for common illnesses.

Fortify Your Life: Your Guide to Vitamins, Minerals, and More by Tieraona Low Dog, M.D.

This is a good place to start if you want to figure out which supplements are right for you. It was written by an integrative health doctor.

Dr. Low talks about each important nutritional supplement and gives advice on how to use them based on your age, lifestyle, and gender.

Another thing that she talks about is how prescription drugs can cause chemical imbalances in the body, and how to fix these imbalances.

New Vitamin Bible by Earl Mindell, R.Ph., Ph.D.

This updated book talks about vitamins, supplements, nutraceuticals, and other therapies.

Also, Dr. Mindell talks about protein, fat, and antioxidants. Written by a pharmacist, this book talks about vitamin needs for different groups, like students, smokers, drinkers, pregnant women, and many more.

There is also a section on supplements when you have certain illnesses. This is a very good resource.

The Health Professional’s Guide to Dietary Supplements by Shawn M. Talbot, Kerry Highes

This book was written in 2007, but it still has useful information in it. The authors look at scientific evidence to see if many supplements are good for you.

The safety and dosage of the supplements are given, as well as the sources used to get the information. I can't wait for a new version of this book to come out.

NutriSearch Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements for the Americas by Lyle MacWilliam

With help from Nutrisearch's comparison guides, this book was written in 2015.

Products from Canada, Columbia, Mexico, and the United States are looked at, and the most recent research is shown. The best product from each country is also shown off at the event.

Take a look at how your nutritional supplements stack up against other products on the market to see how they stack up.

The Essential Herb-Drug-Vitamin Interaction Guide by George Grossberg, M.D. and Barry Fox

There are a lot of interactions between drugs, foods, diseases, and supplements that pharmacists have to be aware of as a job.

Remember to always check with a doctor or pharmacist before taking supplements.

If you want to learn more about how herbs and medicines work together, this book is a good place to start. It also talks about the properties of different herbs and supplements.

The Green Pharmacy Herbal Handbook: Your Comprehensive Reference to the Best Herbs for Healing by James A. Duke, Ph.D.

When Dr. Duke talks about Herbs, he talks about their history, how they're used and how to keep them safe.

A top botanist with the USDA named James worked on this database for many years, and he worked on it for a long time. The prescription versions of the different herbal products are also shown.

The Modern Herbal Dispensatory: A Medicine-Making Guide by Thomas Easley, Steven Horne

You can see this on the list. This is one of my favorite things. On my Kindle, I have this book. I use it all the time.

It's for people who are willing to try making herbal medicines at home.

In this full-color guide, you'll learn how to make and use almost 250 different kinds of herbal medicines. This book also gives advice on how to treat more than a hundred different illnesses.

I think anyone who wants to learn more about herbal medicine should buy this cheap book.

The Herbal Apothecary by JJ Pursell, Naturopathic Doctor, Certified Herbalist

This is a great book if you want to learn more about how to use herbal remedies to treat a wide range of illnesses.

A lot of things, like acne and insomnia and fatigue and stress, are covered here.

When you read this book, you will learn how to make teas, tinctures, syrups, and other things with herbs. The author is also a certified herbalist.
