5 Best Christmas Books For Book Clubs Update 05/2022

Christmas Books For Book Clubs

The holidays are a great theme for book clubs because they are so fun. A White Elephant gift exchange, cookies, and/or fun cocktails can also be part of your meeting about the book you all chose. A great way to end the year.

As for Halloween, there are more books about it, but there isn’t much about Thanksgiving at all. In the winter, there are many books. You have the old favorites, but there are also a lot of new ones. So many are coming out this year that I made a post about them.

I love reading holiday books, so I thought I’d put together a list of books I’ve read over the last few years that I think would be great for your December book club meeting. I hope this helps!

One Day in December by Josie Silver

One Day in December by Josie Silver

One Day in December by Josie Silver is so good. It’s the book that has it all: heartfelt, compelling, and emotionally moving at the same time. What’s weird about this one is that it’s not just about the holidays. Even though it starts in the wintertime, the whole thing takes place over the course of a decade. This book is also a good choice for your December book club because it starts and ends at Christmas. It tells the story of two strangers, Laurie and Jack, who fall in love at first sight. That’s not all. When they meet again, it turns out Jack is dating Laurie’s best friend. Especially, I want to point out how emotional this one turned out to be, which was a surprise. So, I will always read anything Josie Silver writes. She has a new book coming out in 2022. You can read about it here.

Laurie thinks that love at first sight doesn’t happen anywhere but in movies.

Through a bus window that has been steamed up, she sees a man who she knows right away is the one. There is a moment of pure magic when their eyes meet. then her bus drives off.

Laurie spends a year looking for him at every bus stop and cafe in London. She’s sure they’ll see each other again. But she doesn’t find him, not when it’s important. Instead, they “reunite” at a Christmas party when Laurie’s best friend, Sarah, introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. Jack, the man from the bus, is here. It would.

What happens to Laurie, Sarah, and Jack over the next ten years is a lot of friendship, heartbreak, missed chances, roads not taken, and destinies changed.

One Day in December is a happy, heartwarming, and incredibly moving love story that you can read to get away from the world for a while. It also shows you that fate can take unexpected turns on the way to happiness.

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren

Christina Lauren’s book, In a Holidaze, was very good to me. It’s a great book and a great idea. When I read books, I don’t always like rom-coms, but they did a great job with this one.
