There is a service called Amazon First Reads that you may not have heard of before: Many people haven't. if you're an Amazon customer, you're going to want to know about this little-known deal that lets you get new books for a very low price, or even for free!
Here, I'll show you how Amazon First Reads can save you money. I'll go over everything you need to know about this program.
What is Amazon First Reads?
Amazon First Reads used to be called Amazon Kindle First Reads, but now it's called Amazon First Reads. It's a program that gives bookworms early access to new books from Amazon Publishing. That means you might be able to read your favorite author's new book before anyone else does!
But not every new book comes out (unfortunately, that would be too good to be true). They instead pick nine or ten books that will be published the next month. These books cover a wide range of genres and ages, with children's and young adult novels in the mix.
Customers who sign up for Amazon First Reads can then choose up to two of these not-yet-released books for a very low price or even for free (more on this later).
How Does Amazon First Reads Work?
It's free to join the Amazon First Reads program, and anyone who has an Amazon account can do so. There isn't a monthly fee, and you don't have to buy anything. Instead, you pay for the books you read when and how you want.
Unless you have Amazon Prime, which means you don't pay a penny for the service. All Prime members get at least one free e-book from the Amazon First Reads list each month.
Not a Prime member? To get started, click here to sign up for a 30-day free trial. This gives you enough time to try out all of the great Prime services, as well as get two free Amazon First Reads e-books, too. It's a good idea to cancel your Prime trial before the 30 days are up. Otherwise, you'll be charged for the next month.
The Amazon First Reads program is free even if you don't want to join Prime or use their free trial. You can still sign up. If you buy a new release e-book, you'll pay $1.99 for each one. That's still a pretty good deal, though!
Signing Up to Amazon First Reads
When you sign up for Amazon First Reads, you'll get an email every month with the new editor's picks for the month. If you see a book that looks good, you can follow the link in the email to get to the buy page.
It's still possible to use Amazon First Reads even if you don't want to sign up for the service. Do this every month. At the start of each month, check out what's on the First Reads page, and then follow the steps to get your book.
Is Amazon First Reads Just for e-Books?
No! During some months, you can also buy print copies of new books that have just come out. The usual monthly selection is only in e-book format. If you love e-books, you might also like to read books on paper from time to time.
If you buy a book from Amazon First Reads, it will cost you $9.99 or less. It doesn't matter whether you have Prime, or if you aren't.
How Do I Read e-Books from Amazon First Reads?
They work the same way as any other e-books. You can read them on a Kindle or other e-reader device, on your iPad or tablet, on your computer, or even on your smartphone with the Kindle reading app. You can even read them on your smartphone.
For free or for $1.99, a First Reads e-book can be yours to download and keep for life. e-books that you buy become part of your long-term library, just like any other book that you buy.
What Kind of Books Are Available on Amazon First Reads?
Almost every popular genre you can think of! A lot of different fiction books are available each month. The editors make sure to include a wide range of books so that most people can find something they like.
As an example, this month, there are a lot of brand new books on sale.

In Kelley McNeil's book A Day Like This, there was a day like this. Bookclub fiction is a genre.

A book called Her Name Is Knight (Nena Knight Book 1) by Yasmin Angie is about a girl who is named Knight. Type: Thriller
This is a book by Charlie N. Holmberg called "Star Mother." Fantasy is a type of genre.
Amy Butcher wrote a book called Mothertrucker: Finding Joy on the Loneliest Road in the United States. It is a memoir.

A Home Again is also a bonus picture book for kids this month. It was written by Colleen Rowan Kosinski and Valeria Docampo.
In fact, you can see that there is a lot of fiction, and even some for the little ones.
When does Amazon Update its First Reads List?
On the first of every month, a new set of editor's picks are shown. Then, don't worry, you don't have to hurry. You have the whole month to choose which, if any, of the new books on offer you want to read.
People can buy these books legally and legally at the end of the month. A new list of books that haven't been released yet comes in their place.
Is Amazon First Reads Worth the Money?
You can get First Reads for free if you're already an Amazon Prime member. A new book from a well-known author comes out every month. You don't have to pay for it. if you're a Prime member who hasn't already used First Reads, then what are you waiting for? You should start now!
You have to decide whether or not Amazon First Reads is worth it if you don't have Prime.
When you sign up for the program, you don't have to pay for it every month or sign a contract. This is one of the best things about it. To look through the new books each month, you can look through the new books each month. If one catches your eye, great. There's always next month. If not, you can wait and see what comes up.
And if you see a title you can't wait to read, you can pay $1.99 for it. That's not bad if it's a good book! That's up to you.
A note for people who use Kindle Unlimited:
The Kindle Unlimited service lets you read all the new ebooks on Amazon's First Reads list for free when they go on sale to the general public at the end of each month.
If you already have a Kindle Unlimited account, Amazon First Reads isn't very useful for people who already have a Kindle. It's just a taste of the books you'll be able to read for free for a month.
But, for some people who use Kindle Unlimited, the First Reads program might still be worth it. Some people might not want to wait for 30 days before they can start reading a new book from their favorite author. Then, you might also want to download and keep an e-book for as long as you want, rather than just borrowing it through Kindle Unlimited. With Amazon First Reads, every book you get is part of your library for life.
When it comes to either of these two things: You don't have to sign up for any kind of subscription, contract, or subscription, so you can sign up and leave whenever you want.
Conclusion
There are a lot of great deals and programs from Amazon, but this one isn't very well known. Amazon First Reads is a pretty cool service.
But if you're a true book nerd and love getting your hands on brand new books, you should keep an eye on the Amazon First Reads page. I also think it's a good idea to sign up for the program to get monthly updates in your inbox so you don't miss out on anything.
If you don't use all of the book-related services on Amazon, some of them will just be a hole in your pocket. As long as Amazon First Reads isn't one of them, that is.
There isn't a subscription fee or long-term contract, so you can sign up for an offer when it's convenient and cancel as many months as you want. You can also cancel at any time. When you buy an e-book, you'll only pay when you do. If you're a Prime member, you'll pay nothing at all!
