Initially, we didn't review books ourselves, but we soon realized that many of the reviews published elsewhere were either too heavy on plot and not enough on opinion, or the reviewer was more concerned with proving their cleverness than helping us decide which books to read. Eventually, we decided to do our own reviews.
As a result, rather than rehashing the narrative, we concentrate on the characters, topics, style of writing, and overall reading experience in our reviews, all in the hopes of guiding you toward the correct books.
In the end, books are merely a starting point for further exploration of one's own interests. Each book review includes a "after the book" essay that delves deeper into the book's historical, cultural, or contextual background.
