Music is so much more than just a way to have fun. Music lessons have been linked to better scores on IQ tests for a long time in the world of education. My main goal isn't to raise my kids' IQ by 7 points. Rather, we want to give them a wide range of experiences in the hope that one of them will make them want to do something more. Learning to play an instrument takes a lot of time and effort. It's great for me to know that. They can help you start learning about different instruments with very young kids right in your own home. Books about music for kids are a good place to start. The symphony might have child-friendly performances and workshops. You can learn about the instruments and see them play in person.

Children who are younger will need help from a parent to start the story off with questions about what's going on. The music notes got bigger when there was a lot of noise, and smaller when there was no noise at all. Even my 2-year-old could tell that. Grab it and see what I mean.

This Jazz Man by Karen Ehrhardt

is now my favorite book. To make the song "This Old Man" more modern, the book puts all different men into a jazz band. It also says that each jazz man is actually a real person, like Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, and more. At the end of the book, it says that. Because I want to learn more about jazz, I love the bios at the end of the book. Back to the book. The book itself is a counting book, and my son can't get enough of it, either. As I read the rhyme, he likes to say the number and the instrument that go with it. I've read it to him over and over again today, and I haven't been bothered at all. The pictures by R.G. Roth are so cute, and I love this book so much!

I Know a Shy Fellow Who Swallowed a Cello by Barbara S. Garriel

He loved it right away. The text is based on "An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly." It's just that this guy has a thing for musical instruments. My son laughed his way through the book. He was very sure that no one could swallow a harp. But this guy did! Because this book is both fun and educational, I thought it was a good idea to read it. It's important for you to read this book if your child likes instruments as much as mine does.

Meet the Orchestra by Ann Hayes

is a good place to learn about musical instruments. The book talks about a lot of instruments in an orchestra, and it gives a lot of information about each one of them. He thought it was funny that animals were used by the musicians. He also learned a little more about them, which was a good thing. When we tried to read the whole book at once, it took us a long time. It's easy to break up and read one or two instruments at a time if your child can't read the whole thing in one sitting. There is also some language that young kids won't understand at all. For teaching, it's good, but I don't think I'll be able to snuggle up with it all the time.

Over the last two weeks, this has been the bedtime book of choice. I'm going to change my earlier statement that it wasn't a good book to snuggle up with.

Ben’s Trumpet by Rachel Isadora

It's a simple but important book about a little boy's dreams. Ben is a big fan of jazz, and his favorite instrument is the trumpet, which he plays the most. When he's alone, he likes to play his imaginary trumpet and listen to jazz music at the door of a local club. When other kids make fun of his imaginary trumpet, he stops playing. That is, until the trumpeter himself comes in and plays it for him again. Love this book! How would you feel as the mother of a child who likes to play an imaginary trumpet all the time? You should be grateful for the fact that this gave him something to connect with. It also helped him understand that dreaming and imagining is good for the soul.

Music over Manhattan by Mark Karlins

Was longer than I thought, but when I read it to my 2-year-old, who was very tired and didn't get a nap today, he was happy to listen and point out the instruments and skyscrapers. The story is about a little boy who is overshadowed by his cousin, who is very successful and makes him very sick. He wants to be as good as his uncle, who floats in the air when he plays. The little boy works very hard in this book. A lot of time, he works on his skills. He had the ability to start with, but he still had to work hard to reach his goal. A great lesson for all kids.

Punk Farm by Jarrett J. Krosoczka.

Even though I wanted to love this book so much, I found it to be a little dull. He came up with a great idea. There were a lot of little things that made them laugh, like the horse being a bouncer at a punk show. But I didn't like the meat of the book. By the time I got to the second animal, I was so tired of singing Old MacDonald that maybe I just don't like the song. I've been teased about it for most of my life. I think my kids and I all liked the book.

M is for Music by Kathleen Krull

I love this book! There is, however, a problem with its style and illustrations by Stacy Innerst. They aren't as clear as I had hoped. In fact, this isn't a big deal for older kids at all. And I also really liked the book. But toddlers couldn't connect the dots because the illustrations were so detailed. They couldn't figure it out. His favorite pages were still there. Even the G is for the guitar. I think I would use this book more to teach about music than to teach about letters.

Mole Music by David McPhail

In this beautiful book, you will learn about the power of music and how to work hard and not give up on your dreams. One day, a mole sees a violin on TV and decides to get his own so he can learn to play it and enjoy it, too! He is terrible at first, but he keeps going. A lot of people think only he can hear and enjoy his music over time. When he plays his music, it feeds a big tree above the ground that has a lot of important jobs, like being a mediator in a fight where both sides come to a peaceful agreement instead of war.

That one little mole's music could end a war? I think that's kind of a big thing to say. But if you break it down, music and the arts are very important to us. It does change people's lives in the same way that they changed Mole's. As Mole plays, you can see his old TV thrown away in another tunnel. I like the message that it sends, and I think it's a good picture.

Sunny by Robin Mitchell and Judith Steedman

great book about making music with anything and everything you can find. Sunny hears music from the animals in the town, the cars, and of course, his friends at the playground. In a "Hootenanny," everyone makes music in their own way. My son loved it when they did that. This book made me think of the Broadway show "Stomp" from the 1990s. Children will learn how easy it is to make music.

Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin by Lloyd Moss

We love this book, and if your child likes music or musical instruments, this is a great book for them to read! In this book, you can count the instruments as they come on stage for a show. It also introduces musical instruments with its rhyming text and fun pictures. Even though my son is a big fan of instruments and this book, I am biased because he is also a big fan. I had to sit in the back of the car with him when we bought it because he couldn't wait to read it on the way home from the store.

Max Found Two Sticks by Brian Pinkney

Great for kids who play drums or stick. It's almost all kids. A lot of things can be said by thumping and banging the sticks that Max picks up and puts on different things. When he mimics the sounds in his environment, I like how he does it. My son also liked the marching band. Great for teaching sounds, music, and how to be yourself.

Moose Music by Sue Porter

Is a book about how things that sound bad to you might be good to someone else. Moose finds a violin in the middle and picks it up. He then plays the violin, which is very good. They don't like it. They get angry and threaten to chase him. He doesn't stay. In the end, he doesn't stop playing even though he plays with all his heart. My son thought this book was very funny. It's a good lesson about following your heart even if you're afraid.

Before John Was a Jazz Giant: A Song of John Coltrane by Carol Boston Weatherford

It's a great book for my son, who found "Johnny Coltrane" on YouTube when he asked me about saxophones a year ago. What I like about this book is that it lets young kids connect with someone who is so hard to reach and touch, like John Coltrane. In the book, it is said that Coltrane's childhood sounds and music were all used to make the music he played later in life. My son was very excited about this idea. When we talked later that day about "Is that music, Mama?" I wasn't always sure what to say, so I didn't always know what to say. When he asked me a question, I didn't think I'd be able to answer it right away. When a book makes you think about things like that, it's a good one.
