Good Books To Read For Teenage Girl

People who work for the Literary Trust did a study and found that young girls are twice as likely as boys to think that their gender makes it hard for them to achieve their goals. In the same report, younger women think strong literacy skills are the best way to reach their goals. It's never been a better time to show them books.

A group of people called the Literary Trust also found that young people who like to read are three times more likely to read above the level expected for their age than children who don't like to read. This means that it's very important that you find the right books for them to read. From John Green and Malala to Little Women and Pride & Prejudice, this is the Molly Brown London guide to books for teenage girls that you can trust.

Animal Farm – George Orwell

Everyone is equal, but not every animal is the same. Lessons about power and corruption are taught in a short story that all ages will find interesting and interesting. When the animals of Manor Farm overthrow their human master, they think their lives will get better, and they think it will be for the best. Napoleon and Snowball are two pigs who take over and start a brutal regime. Soon, the animals realize that they may not be able to live a happy life.

Catcher in the Rye – J.D. Salinger

Written for adults, Catcher in the Rye has become a favorite book for teens all over the world because they can relate to its main themes of rebellion and growing up. He has become a literary hero because he doesn't want to be an adult. Holden Cauldfield is the main character in the book. Salinger's book was one of the most censored in US history because of some of the vulgar language and adult themes that he used. People still buy the book today, and it still sells a lot. A must-read for teenagers who are older.

Little Women – Louisa May Alcott

Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy are four sisters in this classic book. It's funny, sometimes sad, and teaches young women that growing up isn't always easy. The main point of this book is that you can have a good and moral life even if you don't have a lot of money. Teens can learn a lot from the March girls if they keep hearing that money isn't the only thing that makes you happy, and that family support is one of the most important and valuable parts of life.

Darcy Swipes Left – Jane Austen & Courtney Carbone

Look no further than Darcy Swipes Left if your teen kids aren't ready to read some of the older books that have more complicated language yet. You can show them how the stories would have been different if Lizzy Bennett and Mr. Darcy had been alive when smartphones first came out, so they'll be excited to read them.

Goodnight Mr Tom – Michelle Margorian

One of the most beautiful and heart-wrenching stories about friendship, loss, and love that I've ever read. Tom Oakley takes care of Willie Beech, a young Londoner who has been sent to live in the country with Tom Oakley. Willie was sent to live with "Mr. Tom" by his abusive mother, who wanted him to live with someone religious. The two characters learn that they need each other more than they thought. The beautiful happy ending comes after a lot of heartache.

Noughts & Crosses – Malorie Blackman

Malorie Blackman changes the course of history in the first book in a series that will blow your mind. This is what happens in a fictional world where African people have taken over Europe. Sephy and Callum, two young black "Cross" people, have to hide their friendship because interracial relationships of any kind aren't OK. In a series of books for young readers, Blackman shows how power and race work in a way that is exciting. These are important for everyone to read.

A Series of Unfortunate Events – Lemony Snicket

Collection of some of the darkest kids' books ever written. That's why your teens need to read them, because they'll find them impossible to put down. It's been 13 years since their parents were killed in a house fire, and Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are still trying to figure out why. They live in a cruel world, but they also try to figure out why their parents died. Our kids learn about morality, the benefits of being well-read, and the value of secrets as they grow up, and we teach them these things too! Keep in mind, though, that Snicket likes to keep his readers on their toes, so don't expect a happy ending.

Anne of Green Gables – LM Montgomery

Anne Shirley, an orphan from the fictional town of Bolingbroke, Nova Scotia, is the main character in this 1908 book. By mistake, she ends up on the farm of Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert. They had been looking for a boy to help Matthew work on the land. They decide to let her stay on the farm. During the first of eight great books, we learn that Anne is a very imaginative and fiery young girl. She finally gets what she has always wanted, a home, and she is very happy. All ages can enjoy this book, but make sure the younger members of your family don't miss out.

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ – Sue Townsend

It's the first book in the Adrian Mole series, and it's written from Adrian's teenage diary. Teenagers can relate to him because he feels like all the adults around him treat him like a child. He doesn't care about anything, from spots to girls, to the Falklands war or anything else. And don't forget Margaret Thatcher, the person he hates most in the world. They will love these books because Townsend is very good at writing about how adults and teenagers work together.

To Kill A Mockingbird – Harper Lee

Through the eyes of Scout and Jem Finch, Harper Lee makes rape and race in 1930s America more clear. An African-American man is the mockingbird in this story: Tom Robinson, who is being charged with the rape of a white woman, is the bird. A lawyer who is the kids' father is chosen to defend Robinson. The kids see the world's injustices first-hand because their father is chosen to defend Robinson. There are a lot of things in the book that aren't for little kids, but they're told in a way that's warm and funny, and that's why this story is important for people who want to learn about the cruelty of the world.

Confessions of Georgia Nicolson Series – Louise Rennison

You'll recognize the first two books in this series because they were made into movies. Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging are two of them. The ten books in this series follow Georgia and her friends as she slams her way through school, which is always hilarious. Teens who have low self-esteem, changes in their bodies, and changes in friendships will learn about these issues in these books. They will also learn about how friendships change as they get older. A must-have item.

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time – Mark Haddon

This book, written by 15-year-old Christopher Boone, is one of the top five happy endings in literature. It was chosen by kids as one of the best. A great detective story says that Christopher is supposed to be autistic, but the truth about his disability isn't made clear. Make sure to read this book. It takes you on an amazing journey of finding your own way and shows how a family can be ruined by distrust.

Elsewhere – Gabrielle Zevlin

It's a modern classic. We can learn about forgiveness, grief, and how to let people take care of us when we've lost everything from Zevlin's writing skills, so we can move on. I think this is a truly beautiful and refreshing way for young people to deal with death. At the start of the book, Liz dies in a hit-and-run. People in a place called Elsewhere age backward until they reach the age of 7 and are sent back to earth as babies to be born again. She wakes up on a boat that is on its way there.

Perks of Being a Wallflower – Steven Chbosky

Cult movie Charlie is torn between living his life and running from it. Chbosky does a great job of capturing the exact moment when teenagers become adults on paper. He brings the school world to life with care and beauty. You should make sure your teens are ready for sexual abuse and drugs. This book is important because it shows how trauma can show up in children and how it can be worked through together.
